BLOG 1: 9/11 MEMORIES & IMPACT

9/11/2001 is a date that Americans will never forget. The horrific and senseless acts of violence perpetrated on innocent people by terrorists has left a scar on the American psyche.  Although you as students are too young to remember this day, their are many around you who can give you second hand, if not first hand, experiences of infamous event.  In 50 words or more using proper grammar and spelling please respond to the following statements:

1) Ask someone about their 9/11 experience who was old enough to remember.

2) Ask the same person how the world has changed since 9/11 occurred.

**Do not forget to put your name and class period at the end of your response to get credit!**

On 9/11 my mom was at home taking care of me when she got a phone call from my dad. He asked if she heard about the plane that crashed into the twin towers. She hadn't heard of any of it since she was taking care of me the whole day. She turned on the TV and a few seconds later the second plane crashed into the second twin tower. Luckily none of my family were in New York that day. Since 9/11 my parents say security has stepped up everywhere from airports to bridge tolls to building security. They also said that nobody feels safe anymore.

My dad was at work and the receptionist saw it on the lobby tv. She walked around and told everyone something serious had happened in New York. He raced home to get my older sister from daycare. He said it was the first real attack on the contiguous states. It made people feel unsafe. It changed how we secured our borders. Ever since that date, we have pretty much been in war with terrorism.

9/11 Experience

When my dad heard about 9/11, he was working in Fairfield CT at the time. He remembered coming to work in the morning and hearing the news of a plane hitting one of the Towers. At first there was complete disbelief, everyone thought it must be a mistake or if it was true, it had to be an accident involving a smaller plane. His entire office emptied out to a restaurant next store where everyone watched the events unfold on TVs. The restaurant was completely silent. People were shocked and scared. Most of the people gathered around the TVs knew people who worked in NYC and some new people who worked in the towers. After the second was hit, most people hurried home, others were trying to contact loved ones.

How has the world changed?

I think the world has changed in a lot of ways since 9/11. I think at a personal level most people felt fear and then anger. This fear and anger changed our everyday lives with not only increased security but also a heightened wariness of everything around us. This fear and anger also help shape the US foreign policy for years to come. These wars and policies have ultimately led us to where we are today in the middle east.

My dad was in New York City when the first building was hit.In fact he was just a block or two away. The world has changed because they added so much security to even go to a ball park or a theme park and even into another country. So thats my dad's experience with 911.

I was on the way to my first doctors appointment with my mom in the car then someone broke into the radio and said someone hit the tower and then 10 min later another plane hit and she knew something terrible was happening.

Now since it happened, it makes her more nervous and aware of her surroundings especially when she travels.

On 9/11, my dad was supposed to be in the Twin Towers, but at the last minute, he got a business call to go to a bank somewhere else, Boston I believe. My mom had not known about these new plans, and heard about the first plane crash. She held my two month body close to her as she cried. Then the second plane hit, and my mom said on the horizon she could see the smoke from the crashes all the way from here in Connecticut. My mom had lost so much with the terrible and abusive childhood that she had, and she almost gave up, thinking my dad was dead. Meanwhile, my dad and a friend or two of his heard on the radio about the crashes, and the bank was going on lock down. They didn't want to be stuck in the bank for who knows how long, so they ran and slid under the banks gates as they closed, then went to their cars to drive home. To this day, I remember had I had almost lost it all before I even knew anything, and I'm always grateful for my family and that they survived 9/11.

My dad told me that he was on a business trip in Atlanta when the attacks occurred. He said he saw it happen on TV. All flights were cancelled in the days following. He told me he was lucky enough to get a rental car. So he rented a car and drove to Massachusetts, where I lived at the time. Since then the world has changed because airport security is extremely tight now. Before you didn't have to take off your shoes and stuff. Also, since the attacks we went to war.

My dads 9/11 experience was not very exciting. It started as a normal day of getting ready for work. When watching the news he saw the first plane hit the tower. After watching this on the news he had to drive to New Haven to go see a client. As he walked through the door, the office t.v. was on, the second plane had just hit. He spent most of his day working and watching the news. He had left work early to go home and be with his family. He did this because he didn't know when the last time he would see his wife, three year old and two month old would be, he was scared. My dad thinks the world has changed because there is more security in busy places such as baseball stadiums. More places also practice codes or procedures if any attacks were to happen again. One other way the world has changed is people have a higher fear of terrorism then before the attack.

When the attacks happened, my dad was at work and someone called him saying that a plane had crashed. He then watched the TV and saw another plane crash. One of the clients he was talking to said that she couldn't talk because her husband worked at the World Trade Center. Since 9/11, their has been lots more security at public places. People don't feel as safe anymore.

My dad was going to go to a meeting at Starbucks (where he worked at the time) across the street from the Twin Towers. The morning of the meeting (9/11) his boss called and said they didn't need home to come in anymore so he stayed home with me. My mom was on her way to work when my dad got a call from one of his friends telling him to put on the news. He realized that this wasn't an accident when the 2nd plane hit and called my mo to tell her what happened. Ever since that happened a lot of people discriminate and are scared to fly. We also have a lot more security in airports. Many American's are nervous that something like this might happen again. - Victoria Yencik Period 3

I asked my grandmother 9/11 and she said that she was at my house with me and my mom, holding me and watching the news. She was very scared by the attack. She said that after that there are no more security workers at airports and there are cameras everywhere.

my dads 9/11 experience happen when he was working on the fifth floor in New Haven Connecticut one of his colleagues looked up at the TV and said the World Trade Center got hit by a plane and was on fire. then around 20 minutes later they looked and they saw another plane hit the second tower. by then everybody from the whole office was watching TV. they then saw the towers collapse at different times and it was very devastating and the governor announced that all people and tall buildings have to leave because nobody knew what was going on so they all went home and that was my dads experience and then He came home and just watch the devastation. it was very sad moment. I was a sad moment and what happened hurt the economy of United States and that's is the start of our problems that we still have today.

Dad: In work his cubicle.

Girl at work told him a plane just hit the twins towers.

Then another hit the other twin tower.

She was so sad and said IT HIT THE PENTAGON

Dad asked it hit the pentagon?

The bosses daughter was in the pentagon at the time.

She never wanted to work with the government again

Then A reported multiple plane hijacked over the radar and tried to hit the capital but failed.

The man went to the terrorist and made him turn the plane and made it not hit the capital.

In 1939 a plane ran into the Empire State Building

Jet fuel burned the building

Building collapsed both of them.

They have a video of osama and his buddies clapping thinking its a great celebration day.

His neighbor Peter Wirth head of stock office in the towers went out to vote but when he was done voting he saw his tower where he's worked on tv and burned down. All of his workers/Friends died in there.

Unbelievable i thought at first that it was an accident but then i was wrong when i saw the other plane turning around and hit it.

It burned down like butter it melt in a few minutes.

Ive seen the people jump it was tragic.

Many people died from breathing it in a few years later. That was my Dads experience.

What my Dad remembers was that someone that worked at Staples High School was in one of the towers that day. Then one of the planes hit the towers and my Dad's friend got out in time. The world has changed since 9/11 because the USA will never forget what had happened on that day.Terrorists also hit the Pentagon and they were supposed to hit the White House but then they hit land in Pennslyvania.

I talked to my dad about his experience of 9/11. He told me that he was scheduled to go golfing that day and he was leaving my brother and me with a babysitter. He was just about to leave when he received a text from my mom, who had been working in a marketing agency in Westport saying there had been a plane crash. He immediately turned on the TV and saw the second plane hit. He was both confused and scared. He knew two plane crashes could not have been an accident. He did not end up going golfing. He said the world has changed a lot. He said people don’t feel comfortable traveling now and there are many new security checks.

"I walked into a mommy and me class on a beautiful day. Everyone was happy and ready for the class until we turned not the TV and the news was reporting the devastating attack. The mothers were crying who had husbands or family members in the twin towers. I grabbed my daughter(my sister) and left the class the class as quick as I could. I rushed home to where I was with my kid(s). I was grateful when my husband got home from work and we were all together, safe as a family."

" The world has changed because people are more scared of terrism. There is a lot more security at the airports, for ex: you didn't have to take your shoes off and everything before 9/11. We lost a lot of solders that have gone off the war to fight for our country against the tourists."

My dad said that he was at work and he heard over the radio what was happening, he thought it was devastating. He also said that because I was only about a week away from being born, that it would be a bad time to bring a child into the world that was suddenly changing. My dad thinks the world has become less predictable and everyone has a higher sense of security since what happened on 9/11 occurred.

For my families 9/11 Twin Towers experience I interviewed my mom and dad. While interviewing them I found out some interesting things.

From my mom's side of the story, when 9/11 happened, she told me how she was watching Good Morning America while Joey and I were in the play pen at 10 months old. My mom watched in shock as the first and second plane crash was broadcasted across our televison screen. She was utterly shocked, "Couldn't believe it," my mom stated, "it was between 8 and 9 AM I remember," she also tells me.

From my dad's side of the story he had a lot to off about 9/11. He told me how on that day he was in work in his cubicle and was listening in on the radio his co-worker had in the next cubicle over. All of a sudden the girl, his co-worker, hears this from the radio, "Plane just hit the (left or right) twin tower!" From this my dad that it was just a tragic accident that had just happened, but shortly after hearing this the radio broadcaster said, "Another hit the other Twin Tower!" While the radio started talking about the Twin Towers and the Pentagon being hit my dad realized now that this wasn't any accident. With knowing about the Pentagon being hit after this tragic day his boss told him an interesting story. His boss's daughter actually worked in the Pentagon at the time of the plane crash there and she luckily made it out. However, she believing it too dangerous to work in goverment facilties anymore quit and became a ranger in the woods for Washington. My dad also explained how the planes were hijacked and how one was suposed to hit the capital building but the passengers realized and beat the hijackers upfront and crashed the plane into a field in Pennsylvania. One more cool story he told me was about his neighbor at the time, in Fairfield, Peter Worth surviving this tragic day. Peter Worth worked in the building at the time on a pretty high floor, however, that morning instead of heading into work he went to go vote instead. Once he finished voting he was worried he'd already be late for work but by the time he got there the buildings were already collapsed. My dad also commented, "Like butter it melted. I saw the people jumping out of the buildings. There was so much dust and soot in the air that people in the area breathed too much in and got asthma and awhile later perished from those conditions."

Both my parents commented that this changed the world afterward by things such as way more airport secruity and security overall. Also it changed the manufacturing and designs of buildings so that they could withstand things like this. People also changed with all the stereotyping going on in today's community. However, not all people who are Islamic are terrorists, we can't just assume.

I wanted to hear my sisters perspective on the incident so i asked her and she said that she had a dream and this is her dream: "i was in a big building running down the stairs before i reached the bottom something hit the building and i flew down the stars i broke my leg and crawled out of the building anyway not long after i got out the building collapsed." and it was a day she said she will never forget that day because she was at school and they got dismissed early and know one knew why and kids were trying to get a hold of their parent but they couldn't because the second plane knocked out the cellular tower so she went home with a person that she hardly knew (because she was only there for a couple of months) so she had to wait until the phones were back on and she said that the smoke didn't clear until a couple days past the incident. Dad-
On September 11, 2001, my dad was working in Norwalk. My mom was at school teaching, pregnant with me and my sister, and he said it had been a normal day up until when he walked into work. As soon as he got there, everyone just crowded around in the chairs as they rolled the televisions out to the main lobby. As they were watching and the first plane hit, everyone just assumed it was an accident. As the second plane crashed, everyone knew it was an attack. My dad said he was just worried for everyone he knew who lived right near there and somewhat close to the World Trade Center.
Mom-
On September 11, 2001, my mom was 8 months pregnant with me and my sister. My mom is a teacher at Fairfield High and she taught in a portable classroom at the time, which meant she was detached from the main building. The first plane had crashed right before what would have been homeroom in the high school. She went inside to get her mail and overheard people talking about a plane crashing into the World Trade Center. She never thought the crash was intentional when she first heard about it. She went back to her classroom to continue when the principal made an announcement over the loudspeaker that a second plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. She felt sick and after the bell rang, she went back to the main building to find out what was happening. She remembers not being able to call anyone in New York. My aunt, her sister, was working and living in the city at that time, and my mom was extremely concerned whether or not she was O.K. In addition, many of her students' parents worked in the city. She remembers that the whole week after that, she and my dad had the television on at all times. When I talked to her, she told me that she remembers the day so vividly, that she even remembers the dress she was wearing, green and black plaid.

The person that I chose to ask was my mom because she always has a great story to tell and has told me that 9/11 was a very important day in American history.

My mom was at work when 9/11 occurred and was in a training session a person walked into the room and said that a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers. Everyone stopped what they were doing and went to the break room to watch the report of what had happened.
My mom said that since 9/11 there is more patriotism in the United States because when it occurred Americans united and showed a tremendous amount of compassion for one another and the unfortunate families. Due to 9/11 America now knew that one day you have your family and the next day they might not be there. She also said that people are more cautious with planes and security in all. My mom also said that she took security for granted because there was no need for it until this tragic act but, not she appreciates it.

The day of 9/11 my mom remembered going to the doctors and she found out that the first plane hit and turned around and went to go pick up my brother and sister. My mom had thought we were going to be attacked and was very scared. When my mom got home, she turned on the TV and saw that people were jumping out of windows, and everything was being destroyed, people were running, screaming, and crying. Then my whole family saw the first building fall down. We were lucky because my dad was in the building one day before this tragedy happened.

My dad told me how he was in Springfield, Mass. at the time of 9/11. He was on the top of a telephone pole because he's an electrician. His co-workers told him to come down because of something on the radio, Howard Stern was talking about the first plane crash and then they heard Howard's live reaction when he heard about the next plane. A half an hour later they all decided to go home. The changes that my dad explained are pretty drastic... from homeland security, to being at war with Iraq. More changes are: higher security at an airport, more surveillance cameras on streets, and in stores, the U.S. Government being more powerful, the United States citizens have seemed to grow stronger, and even television and music have been changed, by being censorship-ed. My dad then went on and talked about how people pressured President Bush into bombing Iraq, and when he finally did, many people started to dislike him for doing it, because it caused deaths of innocent people.

my dad was sitting down with he's service manager in his office going over some accounts and the service dispatcher came in and said that one of the twin towers was on fire. a few minutes later she comes in and tells them it was plane that hit the tower. They went to a conference room and turned the TV on and saw the second plane hit. My dad said that he can't even explain it. Maybe like an empty feeling of sadness. My dad found out that my uncle was in the tower the Friday before the attack.
My dad believes that the cost of many things have gone up, security issues are on everyone mind and that a lot of people have become a lot more cautious. He thinks that there is a lot of confusion but there's more security on airplanes today.

On 9/11, my mom said she was home helping me get ready because she was going to take me to her work for the first time. I was three months old and with my sister at daycare and my dad at work, she had no knowledge of what was happening until my dad called. He said he called just after it happened to tell my mom not to go to work with me and he said that everyone at his work was very scared. The world has changed since then because we are more aware and alert of terrorists in our world and that we have taken more safety measures and we know that things like that can happen and the world can change drastically in the blink of an eye.

My mom is a chorus teacher. 3rd period was about to start and she was walking out into the hallways, when the gym teacher came out and said, "Did you hear about the plane crashing into one of the twin towers?" At first she thought that is was an accident and how tragic it was, but then the second tower was hit also. By then people knew that it was a terrorist attack, and everyone was scared because they didn't know where else the terrorists were going to go. By then, the Pentagon had been hit. The world has changed in many ways. First of all, we are way more cautious and suspicious of things. If we see a person who looks suspicious, we stay away from them. If we see a bag or package sitting on a sidewalk or street, we would call the police. Back then, people would have just walked right up and opened it.

Catie Kabel 9/11 has changed and affected the world in so many ways they have better security for the airports and borders. After 9/11 happend no one could go on a plane that day because the U.S. government has grounded every plane in the nation. It also changed because the whole nation has come closer because of this traggic event. What my dad was doing that day was doing that day was building a wall for my aunt with my cousin and they were listening to the radio and they heard that one plane crashed so they thought it was an accident but then a little bit later they heard that a second plane crashed into the twin towers. Their reaction was shocked that it happens and sad that it was an attack. At the time we lived in trumbull and we used to see a lot of planes fly over the house and it was weird to them because they did not see and that night.

My parents said I was laying down in the living room watching Sesame Street. My older sister Hannah who is now 16 was on her way to her first day of preschool with my Dad. My dad then shorty after went to work. Then my dad turned on the radio and was very confused as to what have happened. Then ounce he heard that the other tower got hit then the pentagon he realized that it was a terrorist attack. Then my dad left the office and came straight home to be with us and to make sure we were ok. My Dad says after he came home he watched the news all day and watch the event unfold. Plane security because it got more strict when it came to bring certain items on airplanes. Also, America now feels a lot more vulnerable and a lot less safe after the attacks. And it has made The U tied states lose allot more people in the war because we had to go fight the group called allayed a soon after the attack.

My dad was at work then he saw smoke and heard on the radio that there was a plane crash but, he thought that it was by mistake then another one hit he said it changed his life because when ever he is on a plane he sees there etra gear and you have to do all of this work to just get threw to to doors of the plane.

When I asked my dad about 9/11 he said that he remembers it like it was yesterday. My dad was at work in Newtown. He was helping train a new rookie police officer who had just joined the force. My dad and the rookie were inside the Newtown Police Department when they first started to hear what happened. "It felt like it wasn't real" my dad said to me. He first got the news by my mom who had recently called him and told him what was going on. My dad immediately turned the TV on to the news and saw that a plane had struck the World Trade Center. My dad said at the time he was speechless and thought it was a freak dream.
I then talked to my father about how the world has changed after that terrifying day. He mainly talked about airport security. "Before 9/11 it usually took you about 15-30 minutes to get on a plane and it wasn't a pain to go through all these TSA checkpoints. But after 9/11 the government makes you go through all these security checks and scans before you can hop onto a airplane." After my father told that to me, I just thought how so much could change because of one freak incident.

My mom says that she was at home and she got a call from my dad that a plane hit into one tower. So she thought it was an accident then another plane hit into the other tower, and she knew it was a terrorist attack. The world has changed because it became unsettled.

My dad did not have an amazing story about what happened on September 11, 2001, but his insights on how our world changed from that point on interested me. Basically what happened was that he went for a job interview that morning and the person who gave the interview asked him if he heard about the planes that hit the towers. On his way home he saw the whole event unraveling on the radio and television. When I asked him on how this event changed transformed the world, he told me that people used the word terrorist more often and made stereotypical comments based on religions and races.

I asked my mom and she said that she was home with me and that my grandpa had called hear and told her everything that was happening. Also she thinks that the world had changed by people being more scared of terrorist and afraid of planes being hijacked again.

She watched what took place live on T.V. and then went to my aunts and continued to watch while they made phone calls to all our family members.

We entered this war on terror and are constantly afraid of what will happen. People are afraid that a terrorist attack will happen if they go on a plane.

9/11 was a traject day for Americans. When i asked my dad what he remembered about this day, he told me that it was horrific, a violent act that us Americans should go to war. When asking my mom how the bombing of the World Trade Center changed the war, she said that the world has changed drastically. You see much more security around then before. At airports, they have a more thorough search than before. Also, at Monroe El. they installed a metal detector so people cant have any metals etc... All around schools they have cops patrolling the areas. 9/11 changed the world and affected many peoples lives and lost lives.

I would like to share my mom's 9/11 experience. She was with my brother, Jeff, who was watching cartoons. She was going through all the channels when she saw the first burning tower on the news. She grabbed the phone to call her mother and tell her about what just happened. My grandma (her mother), was saying it was probably and accident. After discussing about this horrible event, the T.V showed another plane crashing into the second. My mom then knew this wasn't an accident. All the neighbors were on their lawns conversing with other neighbors about this attack on our country.

The world has changed since 9/11 because of new safety rules and we will always think we're not safe.

My mom's experience of 9/11 was that she was sitting on the couch with me and she got a call from my dad to turn on the news cause he was at work. At the time we lived in Missouri so we were not effected very much by what happened. My mom said that security has definitely become more advanced and people are now more aware of what can happen because of terrorists.

My dad was working at Shelton and was on the phone with the people that he used to work with at the Chrysler build and they were watching the buildings come down and they told my dad that it wasn't a small plane it was an airplane. We now have homeland security, new division of the government, and that we now realize that other countries don't like us, and that we need to be more careful in our daily lives.

My mom said she didn't recall where she was when the planes struck, but she said that she couldn't believe that people were taking the lives of innocents, while she was creating life of her own(me).

My father's 9/11 experience was when he was at work, he was in a sales meeting and someone came in and said a small plane crashed into a building in New York City. At the time my dad thought it was a plane that had lost control. Then him and his co workers went to watch the television to see what was happening. A few minutes later a second plane crashed and they had released from the news that it was a terrorist attack. Most of the employees watched the television for most of the day. After the events of the day, they closed the store early and all went home to be with their families.

After the attack of 9/11 the whole country had a higher sense of security like, increased security at all airports and state troopers visible on highways. There were a lot of travel restrictions, and people were more aware of their surroundings.

I asked my brother about his 9/11 experience, he said he was in the third or fifth grade when the loud speaker came on and they announced that there has been an incident. My brother was taken out of school by our mom and went home. He mentioned that after that there was more security at the airports and cameras were installed at stores in many other places.

9/11 made a major impact on the world. My mom said that airport security has changed vastly and people didn't feel safe living there for a while thinking it would happen again. My mom said she was at work when one of her workers told everyone a plane hit the twin tower and everyone turned on the tv's and started watching what was going on with the world.

I asked my mother about her 9/11 experience. She remembers exactly where she was that day. She was the director at the Greenwich YMCA Child Care Programs and she was visiting the off site Preschool program. A parent walked in and told her a plane had just hit one of the Twin Towers. She got in her care and drove to her office and while driving heard the report of the second plane hitting. When she got to the office they pulled the TV into the main office and watched the news coverage. I was only 3 months old so she went to my classroom and scooped me up. She wouldn't let go of me. She just couldn't imagine losing someone she loved.
She says the world is much more cautious in many ways now. The security that is in place. There is much more racial profiling as well. It changed our lives as a family because my mother took a job closer to home so we would no longer spend three hours of our day in traffic. She worked closer to home so we could spend more time together.

I asked my parents about their 9/11 experience and they said that the family was living in New Jersey at the time, and it was just my mom and my brother at home, and of course me too. My dad was at work while this happened. My mom started hearing on the tv's what was going on... the first plane hit. The first plane nobody was thinking anything about a terrorist attack because it could have been anything, like a freak accident. But as she continued to watch, you saw the second plane fly in and hit. After that she said that everybody was worrying, the entire neighborhood. She kept trying to call my dad about what happened, but the phone lines were down which made it a lot worse, because you could not reach your family. This worrying went on and on... Later they found out that another plane had hit the pentagon, where my uncle works. This was very scary for them, but luckily, we got in touch with him and he was fine. He was farm from the crash.
When I ask my parents how the world changed, they tell me how everybody is really more careful really. After this happened, you know that things can happen like this anytime? So not only have we as humans changed but now our security is a lot better and careful. We have air marshals on our flights and a lot more plane security. Most of all, they said that this shocked the US and really made us all come together as one whole. One strong country.

One 9/11 I was just a couple months over one year old. I was in my basement watching Barney while my mom was watching me. That is when she began to realize what was happening. She called my dad and asked him to come home and take my sister and brother out of school on his way home. After that phone call is when the second plane hit and she finally knew this wasn't an accident so she went to go get my other sister from ballet. On her way there someone hit the back of her car only slightly since everyone was messed up from what was happening. After that everyone was back and my house together. Ever since 9/11, all the traveling has been a lot more secure. Now since 9/11 it's a lot longer to go through all the parts of the airport and other places like trains.

1)My dad was in Stanford at the time, working in a old church and was about 30 miles away. He heard what happened around lunch. Himself and his workers were in shock they left early and he drove home immediately to my family.
2)He said the world has changed dramatically,we aren't invincible and we aren't as safe as we were before 9/11.

2) After 9/11 the world has changed because now there is more security in bust places such as the mall, gas stations, and most of all airports.

My father had been in the city with my brother that was only 3 years old. The first thing he did was get in his car, turn on the radio, and start rushing home for safety. He said that it was a very scary time because no one knew what they were doing. After 9/11 the U.S. has become a more secure and cautious nation.

my dad was working outside on a scafel a few hundred feet up in the air in Miami , Florida. He was told to get down for safety precautions. the GC (general contractor) was telling everyone to evacuate because there was an attack in New York and they where frightened about having that building destroyed.

a way the world has changed since 9/11 is that politicians ca use 9/11 as a advantage to declare war to other countries.

My dad, Bill, was at work when his co-worker came in laughing saying that the World Trade Center's North Tower was hit with a plane. My dad and his co-workers turned on the TV and as soon as he did, the second plane hit the South Tower. When it did he said he got this feeling of horror because he didn't know what was going on, but then he said that the same co-worker, who told him that the North Tower got hit, started laughing and said that America deserved it. Which isn't true at all.

On September 11th 2001 my mother got a call from her sister to watch the news. Even when she saw the second plane crash into the Twin Towers she thought it must have been a terrible accident. She says that she could not believe that anyone would want to hurt that many innocent people. Since 9/11 she views the world as a much more dangerous place and if another horrible event were to happen she would have no problem believing it.

When my dad found out about 9/11 he was working in St. Lukes School in New Canaan. He was soon kicked out not knowing the reason why. While he was driving he said that there were no cars, not even people on the streets. When he turned on the radio and listened to the horrific news he immediately went to go pick up my brother from school. Once he got home him, my mother, my brother, and fetus me watched the news in horror.
